"This largely unknown company clearly has a knack for condensing elephantine pageantry into elegant, multisensory tone poems."

Artistic Director

Bob Fisher

Bob Fisher founded The Chicago Mammals at the turn of the millennium, driven by a vision of theatre as a multisensory experience — part horror, part mythology, part phantasmagoria. Over two decades, he has written and directed more than fifteen original productions, from intimate noir triptychs to sprawling all-female reimaginings of canonical literature.

His work has been recognized by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, NewCity Stage, and Chicago Timeout, and has established the Mammals as one of Chicago's most singular and uncompromising storefront theatre companies.
